I know that you have not seen a message from this mailing list since
September 2023. It seems that most of the activity has shifted to the
Eastnet at groups.io mailing list over the past few years. Eventhough many
of you have not joined the Eastnet list, I would strongly encourage you
to do so and join in the activity there. I have also been considering
consolidation of the various state mailing lists or shutting them down
completely. The one with the oldest message is NY going back to 2016.
The other states were set up after the passing of N1URO (SK) and my
subsequent coordination of the 10 new states as well as NY. I would
welcome your opinion and viewpoints on this, 44net, VPN and overall ham
radio digital messaging that we are all (re)building in the northeast.
In the meantime, here is the latest information for the Eastnet
quarterly meeting to be held this Saturday morning:
This Saturday morning will be the Quarterly meeting of the EastNet
packet group at 9am via Zoom.
https://us06web.zoom.us/j/87159134454?pwd=cjBsZFZUSmU3a2NFbEVYTkJPRE1hQT09
Topics to be discussed:
- ARDOP via HF to link BBS message forwarding – another way to bridge
packet networks WITHOUT using the internet
- NVIS antennas (Near Vertical Incident Skywave) – what is it and why do
we care when we are a packet group
- Full time interconnected packet systems, dedicated backbone links, and
near real time networks. What are the differences.
- Radio Relay International – Message handling and how it works using
digital modes
Feel free to invite others to this call. We are building to a good size
crowd.
Thank you,
Brian Webster N2KGC – President EastNet
