Any comments or ideas from those in NH on this list?

Regarding the UHF situation, did anyone consider the 223.420-223.700 range?
We use that range for regional LANS in NY and NJ. As for the movement of
messages and bulletins in/out of NH, what is the solution?

It used to cover the state, but because it was backboned on UHF, we were forced to shut it all down when the Air Force's PAVEPAWS radar went online on the Cape. The two main hubs were a ham's hilltop home near Concord (he passed away), and the old State EOC on Fruit St. All that equipment was apparently mothballed in a garage somewhere and we have no access to it. Jay, K1EHZ (copied here) can likely tell you more about what currently exists. My own packet gear is also mothballed, and I'm not sure I'd recall how to use it after 20 years.

They require lots of man-hours to set up and maintain, take a lot of skill to set up and use, and the stuff we can afford is vastly more fragile than what the commercial boys install. Doesn't make sense, especially when we have so few active and younger members. When we should be using our limited resources to move actual messages, we'd be out there trying to restore our damaged equipment while the commercial boys are doing the same thing.
